Corneal Transplant Surgery
Surgery is the only effective procedure to restore sight once the
cornea has been severely damaged. The outpatient corneal transplant
procedure is an organ transplant, whereby the damaged cornea is
replaced with a healthy one. Corneas for organ transplant are
provided by the eye bank which carefully screens all corneas to
ensure safety (See Photo).
